5 Fruits And Vegetables Per Day:


What  is One serving of fruit or vegetable ? 

Easier than you think! The goal of 5 servings of fruits and vegetables per day may seem difficult to achieve, but on second thought, the portions are small. Think about it morning, noon and night, complete with snacks and voila. Fresh or frozen, in soups or salads, raw or cooked, mashed or fried, all are good ways to combine portions.




A Portion Is :

1 fruit or 1 medium size vegetable
+ 1 pear
+ 1 orange
+ 1/2 grapefruit
+ 1 celery
+ 1 large kiwi
+ 3 fresh apricots
+ 10 lychees
+ 1/2 avocado
+ 20 grapes.


Or Also :

125 ml (1/2 cup) of fruit or vegetables, frozen or canned
+ broccoli
+ cantaloupe
+ zucchini
+ Pineapple (or 1 slice)
+ Asparagus (or 6 pins)
+ Mango (or 1/2 fruit)
+ Potato (or 1/2
average)
+ Sweet pepper (or 1/2 medium)
+ Watermelon
+ Tomato sauce
250 ml (1 cup) of salad or raw leafy greens, or 125 ml (1/2 cup) of cooked leafy greens
+ Kale
+ endive
+ spinach
+ Romaine lettuce
+ mesclun
125 ml (1/2 cup) of juice + fruit (no sugar added) or vegetable juice
60 ml (1/4 cup) dried fruit
+ Cranberries, apricots, grapes.
